Medical detox helps you reach physical stability before you work through the underlying causes of addiction more thoroughly in an inpatient or outpatient program. Medications used to treat substance abuse are available to help lessen cravings and symptoms of withdrawal.

Residential inpatient treatment temporarily removes you from everyday life triggers and routines so that you can rebuild your life and habits in a safe, sober space with supervision from treatment staff. Short-term residential treatment at our Edison drug rehab center usually lasts 30-90 days and is an ideal starting point for many clients. During your time in short-term residential inpatient treatment, you’ll eat, sleep, and live on-site while engaging in a full daily schedule of treatment activities, such as group and individual therapy.

The long-term residential inpatient program at SOBA NJ is an extended version of a standard inpatient treatment stay. Depending on your treatment needs, long-term drug and alcohol addiction treatment can last for six months or more. Some long-term rehab clients stay in their program for up to a couple of years. 

The additional time to solidify healthy, sober daily life routines long-term rehab provides can be a game-changer. Clients who experience frequent relapse, are working to overcome severe addiction, or who have not found success in treatment in the past often benefit from a long-term residential stay.

The partial hospitalization program at SOBA NJ combines the intensive treatment schedule of a residential treatment program with the freedom of living off-site or in our sober living apartments. PHP clients can expect to attend treatment most days a week and will spend more hours per week total engaged in treatment activities than those in a typical outpatient program.

The intensive outpatient program at SOBA NJ is less intensive than PHP but still provides a comprehensive treatment experience. IOP clients can expect to attend treatment for regular groups, once-weekly individual therapy, and other services on multiple days throughout the week. However, the time commitment is lower than that of PHP, allowing more time for external obligations like work or school.

The outpatient program at SOBA NJ is our least intensive level of care. Most often used as a step-down form of treatment for clients who are in a stable place and are working toward relapse prevention, outpatient clients spend about 1-9 hours per week in treatment. Since all of our clients have an individualized treatment plan, regardless of care level, your exact treatment schedule will depend on your needs.

SOBA NJ offers a variety of telehealth services so that clients can access HIPAA-compliant, professional mental health and addiction treatment even if they’re unable to attend treatment in person. Our virtual rehab services include but aren’t limited to group and individual therapy, medication management, assessments, consultations, and follow-up meetings.

If you attend any of our treatment programs, we will help you create a relapse prevention and aftercare plan before your release date to help set you up for success post-treatment. Depending on your needs, an aftercare plan might involve continued therapy, medication management, support groups, job and housing support, or other services. 

Once you complete treatment at SOBA NJ, you can also access our alumni support program. Alumni services provided by SOBA NJ include but aren’t restricted to weekly meetings, which help you stay connected to a strong recovery community after treatment.
