Since the Affordable Care Act, most insurance plans are required to include coverage for substance use and mental health care, similar to coverage for other medical needs. Because of that, your UnitedHealthcare plan may help cover treatment, even if you have never used these benefits before.

At SOBA New Jersey, we offer multiple levels of care and therapy options, and we tailor each plan to the person, not a template. That flexibility helps us align care with your UnitedHealthcare benefits, even when coverage is out of network.

Some services that can be covered by UnitedHealthcare insurance plans include:

If you purchased your plan on your own, you are an individual policyholder. If your insurance comes through your job, you are usually covered under a group plan. Either way, we can walk you through your options and help you take the next step.

Treatment Freedom & Flexibility

As an out-of-network healthcare provider that is partnered with UnitedHealthcare, SOBA New Jersey can offer significant customization and flexibility when making your recovery plan. We do not have to adhere to strict treatment requirements set by an insurance adjuster, which would not address your specific needs. Instead, you get the benefit of being able to find treatments that work for you. This freedom also allows you to pick your own treatment providers without the need for an official referral from your primary care physician.

How UnitedHealthcare Coverage Works

Understand your benefits and what they may include

Addiction rehab services should be affordable for everyone to use. UnitedHealthcare insurance can make our treatments at SOBA New Jersey more affordable for you in a few different ways.

Depending on your UnitedHealthcare plan and the rehab treatments you use, it might help by:

Reducing flat costs: You might be eligible for coverage that pays a flat amount of treatment costs, up to a limit, and after paying a deductible. This option can be the most useful if you need extensive rehab services.
Reducing percentage costs: Your coverage might pay a percentage of all treatment costs with a lower deductible or no deductible at all. This option can be helpful if you are receiving temporary outpatient services and similar less-intensive services from our rehab center.

Courtesy Client Pick-Up Within 5 Hours of Our Location

We provide free transportation services for clients within a 5-hour distance of our New Brunswick, NJ rehab facilities. This service is for individuals in need of drug or alcohol detox that are unable to find transportation to our facility. This service includes transportation from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.
