More About Samantha

Samantha is the Clinical Director for Inpatient and Outpatient services at SOBA New Jersey. Having received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from William Paterson University, she went on to pursue her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Kean University. Samantha currently holds licenses as a Professional Counselor (LPC), Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) Clinical Certified Supervisor (CCS), Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) and is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).

Samantha has a long history of working in the substance abuse and addictions field, with a specialization in co-occurring disorders. She has been an employee of SOBA New Jersey since 2017, where she has served in various roles within the agency including Team Lead and Senior Primary Therapist. In both roles, Samantha was provided the opportunity to lead the Clinical Team, which Samantha felt great pride in doing.

Prior to coming to SOBA New Jersey, Samantha was employed working with adolescents in a long-term substance abuse treatment facility, where she provided individual counseling, group therapy, and facilitated family nights. Samantha has current experience working with children and adolescents as a children’s therapist through the Children’s System of Care.

Samantha practices strength-based approaches, client-focused approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approaches, and Motivational interviewing techniques (MI). She finds her motivation in seeing clients grow and become the best versions of themselves as a result of actively engaging in treatment and focusing on their strengths.

In her free time, Samantha enjoys spending time with her family, working out, and going to the beach.
