Biography

Theresa is a Master’s Level Addictions Counselor and Clinical Alcohol Drug Counselor Intern. She obtained her master’s degree from Grand Canyon University in 2017. Theresa has five years of inpatient substance abuse and co-occurring treatment serving the adult population. Prior to entering the addictions field, Theresa worked as a Director for 8 years with individuals diagnosed with mental health disorders and developmental disabilities.

Theresa strives to assist with providing clients with the best quality of care through establishing a healthy client-counselor relationship, as well as understanding and implementing the appropriate practices to best suit their individual needs. It is her goal to create an enduring impact on her clients as well as assist them in fostering positive relationships in their lives by providing each client with the appropriate tools needed for their own idea of success. Theresa utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques and Motivational Interviewing (MI) Therapy techniques to aide in the process of successful treatment. With her extensive background in counseling, her goal is to help clients overcome their addiction which will allow them to live a productive and successful life.
