Freda Moore-Abdus Salaam

Freda has been working in behavioral health since 2012. Her passion for Client Care first took shape in her work with years of experience in all facets of substance abuse treatment including housing, outpatient, and inpatient services.

Freda identifies herself as a functionalist, passionately believing that everything that exists is present for a reason and carries this perspective into her client’s care. She collaborates with clients to determine the roots, or underlying causes of, distress that manifest in day-to-day life. Operating within the wellness model, Freda focuses on the inherent strengths each individual client possesses and weaves these assets into a personalized wellness plan with aim to address and resolve the presenting problem.

Freda assists clients in her multi-faceted role with duties that include, but are not limited to, ensuring communication between the client, the treatment team, and all family members involved, in coordinating benefits, assisting and connecting clients to appropriate entitlements (such as FMLA and/or disability services) and ensures priority access to services needed while in treatment. Her main focus is to meet clients’ non-clinical needs and preferences in the delivery of high-quality, high-value healthcare so that her clients can fully involve themselves in their recovery without concern their outside responsibilities are not being met.
