Biography

My name is Michelle Conway. I’m the Operations Manager at Soba, New Jersey; I’m deeply passionate about the journey of recovery, having experienced its challenges and victories firsthand. My path to healing has ignited a fire within me to advocate for others facing similar struggles. My journey started at Soba in 2017 as a recovery tech working with others who struggle with substance abuse. Having battled addiction myself, I understand the profound toll it can take on individuals and families. However, through my unwavering determination and commitment to change, I discovered the transformative power of recovery. My journey has been marked by resilience, growth, and a profound sense of purpose, which I love showing others. We do recover.

My mission is clear: to inspire hope, instill courage, and empower individuals to embrace the journey of recovery. I am driven by a genuine belief in every person’s inherent worth and potential, regardless of their past struggles. Through advocacy, education, and support, I strive to break down barriers and create pathways to healing and wholeness for others to grab onto. Life is not easy, but I’m here to show you that we can change and get better one day at a time.

I’m privileged to be a part of this fantastic facility (Family) that genuinely cares. What matters to me the most is allowing clients to believe in themselves. Remember that setbacks are not permanent. They are opportunities for growth and learning. I embrace the journey of others and celebrate. I believe in you, and I’m cheering on you every step of the way.

As a parent myself and a son who struggled, I know the heartbreak that addiction causes in families, and honestly, working at Soba, I take care of all individuals as if they were my children. Knowing how hard it is for the families that see no end in sight, BUT at soba, People change; they get clean and sober and start loving themselves. It’s incredible to be a part of that. I see daily miracles.

In my free time, I love to go on vacations with my Husband and enjoy the journey of my recovery and my son’s recovery. It took a long time watching my son struggle, but he did change, and I had to allow him to change on his own. I’m passionate about recovery and have dedicated my work and life to advocating for others. I will not give up and will always show others there is hope.
