Biography
Leigh is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) Credentialed Intern who has been working with co-occurring adults and adolescents since 2016. Leigh has worked in a variety of care settings including inpatient, intensive outpatient, outpatient, and group home services.
Leigh has worked with diverse client populations while using a humanistic, trauma-informed, strengths-based approach to helping clients find the natural capacity within themselves to heal. Utilizing elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and the 12-step Model, Leigh hopes to assist her clients in enhancing the effectiveness of coping with everyday stressors and personal challenges in order to sustain long-term recovery and mental wellness. Graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (BFA) from The College of Santa Fe in Santa Fe, New Mexico prior to entering the field of Social Work, Leigh's background in creative arts has transformed into a passion for therapeutic art practices to enhance client's self-awareness and forge a connection between mind and body.
Outside of her dedication to her clients and their families at SOBA, Leigh is an intensive in-home therapist for the state of New Jersey's Children's System of Care (CSOC).
In her free time, Leigh enjoys photography, painting, traveling, the beach, and animals.
